Cambodian food reminded me of Malaysian food, with the wide range of veggies to seafood combined with the array of grilled meats. Rice was a staple at every meal and the street food was oh-so-cheap and tasty!
Some of my favorites:
Lok Lak (ឡុកឡាក់) - Stir-fried marinated, cubed beef served with fresh red onions, served on a bed of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
Amok trey (អាម៉ុកត្រី) - Fresh fish coated with thick coconut milk and spices, wrapped in a banana leaf and then steamed.
Nom krok - A popular street food made of rice flour and coconut milk formed into little cakes.
