We spent the whole entire day just walking around in amusement of the beauty around us.

"To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted."

Exploring Whangarei Falls and the Abbey Caves on our North Island road trip.

ABBEY CAVES

We found our way through the woods to an endless cave.  When we looked up in the darkness we could see glow worms.  When we looked down we could see fish and sea life by our feet.  The natural land beat any country we’d seen before.

On our trip up to Whangarei, pronouced Fangaray, we were invited in to a couchsurfing hosts home while he was away.  He called us, told us the security code and told us to enjoy.  We chilled out, goofed around and shared some hookah on the porch by the pool.  New Zealand was also the only country where we found an “honesty box”, a box for coins next to a shelf with strawberries or honey on the side of the road.  Kiwi’s have so much trust in each other compared to other countries we stopped in.
