I didn’t have time to think about writing my experiences but I will never forget this trip.
On the way from Picton to Nelson, the beginning of our South Island road trip! Following a tip, we stopped by the Pelorus River — some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen. You could see all the way to the bottom. Too bad it was cold, otherwise we would have jumped right in!

We were hanging out on the Mount Victoria lookout with our CS hosts when this group of charming fellas came up and started chatting with us. Super friendly and hilarious (they even did a haka for us!), definitely demonstrating the laid-back, outgoing Kiwi mindset.
